Being a Mom is Hard
When my husband & I decided to start a family, I honestly don't think I had a clue to what I was getting myself into.Don't get me wrong becoming a mother has been one of my greatest memories but it has it’s shares of highs & lows. Nothing can really prepare you to how much selflessness it takes to care for another human being. Of course we see all the glitz and glamor of how motherhood is portrayed on social media & television. But you really don't know the realness of it until you experience it first hand. Rather you're a biological mom; step mom, adoptive mom, foster mom, working mom, SAHM or any other title you may have. You're still a mom and it's not easy.
When I was pregnant with my daughter, the excitement of her coming into this world was like no other. You get all the cute little clothes & gadgets that you'll need to make things run smoothly. But there was not much said about about hair loss, breastfeeding complications or in my case postpartum depression that I didn't even realize I was experiencing until over a year later. Not to mention the endless snacks time, running noses or constantly being touched. This is still the most rewarding title that I gladly wear and I'm so grateful that the Lord chose me to be their mother.
Through it all just know that you're not alone on this journey. There may be times where you just want shut yourself in the bathroom & cry or go to Target and just roam the aisles in peace. Remember that is totally okay and it doesn't make you a bad momma. We all need a break!
Psalms 127:3-5 NIV
"Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth.Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court"
I pray that for the one reading this. I pray that they know that they are loved beyond measure. That they are never alone, even in their times of uncertainty or being overwhelmed. That they have been hand chosen for motherhood. That is not by by mistake but design. That you lift every burden, every feeling of anxiety and depression. That you give them strength and strategy to be the best mother that have destined to be. In all these things I pray in your son Jesus name, Amen!
